Do I Need a Root Canal?

We believe that open communication and patient education are key elements in providing exceptional dental care. Our team will take the time to answer all of your questions, ensuring you feel confident and informed about your dental health. When it comes to abscessed, dying, or severely decayed teeth, the only way to avoid a dental extraction is to remove the infected nerve inside of the tooth itself. This delicate procedure removes the source of tooth pain (the nerve) and prevents additional damage to the inside of the tooth. Dr. Gehring will carefully clean out the infected tissues, medicate the inside of the tooth, then seal it off to prevent the tooth from becoming reinfected. After your endodontic treatment, we recommend placing a crown over your tooth to reinforce the already weak structure.

Sedation is available for most of our root canal appointments.
